A Message On The Road

"We are the children of Iran," by Shapour from Iranian.com, August 12, 2008.
One day
I will come, and bring a message.
I will pour light into veins.
And will cry out: O’ whose baskets are full of sleep!
I brought you apples, the red apple of the sun
I will present to the beggar a jasmine flower.
I will give the pretty leper woman a gift of earrings.
I will tell the blind man: The garden is so spectacular!
I will be a peddler, peddle through alleys and cry out:
Dew, dew, dew.
A passerby will say: honestly, tonight is a dark night,
I will give her the Milky Way.
There is a legless girl on the bridge,
I will put a constellation of stars around her neck.
I will take away all the curses on the lips.
I will tear down all the walls.
Sohrab Sepehri

Salam Nazy jon,
When it comes to poem, I'm hopeless (although I enjoy reading one). So I won't leave you a poem here. Just wanted to tell you that I loved the photo you posted here. For some strange reason I got very emotional. I know I'm not homesick because I've past that stage but it's time for me to go visit Iran,,, just need a vacation :)

Have a very good day ahead of you.

Gift

I speak out of the deep of night
out of the deep of darkness
and out of the deep of night I speak.

if you come to my house, friend
bring me a lamp and a window I can look through
at the crowd in the happy alley.

I can't go thru airport security.
I have rivers in my luggage and cities in my socks.
I have rabbits up my sleeve
and foxes up the other sleeve,
sniffing at the rabbits.
My hatband is a garter snake
'cause he never gets to go anywhere
and there's a goldfish bowl under my hat,
minnows swim thru my thinning hair.
My black leather jacket has a drunken drummer
in one zip-up pocket, he's loud as gunshots,
and in the other pocket there's a bagpipe player,
he's even louder. Neither stops for questions
or for anything else.
I've got my wallet and keys
in my purse like everyone
but I've also got my under-the-bed monster,
I couldn't get anyone to look after him
and his claws keep sticking out.
There are mountains in my backpack
climbing me because I won't climb them.
There are no regulations against any of this
but there's no explanations either.
I wouldn't know where to begin.
And I need them all for my security
so I can't go thru airport security.
Nobody bothers me on the bus.

From the sea...

Here it is..the deep sea...blue and vast..
waves dancing at the rocks...coming..going fast
One after the other...
and in the picture..
I see you..

On the sand...writing a note..
A fisherman...with no boat!
A sailor...far away
waiting...at the "bay"
night and day...
to send a letter..a poem he wrote..
to you!

A dream you were...
a secret wish..not to share!
A poem to write...
I won't dare!
and when you came...
I'm never the same
A poet...I became
and here my poem...
to you!

hi dear nazy
I come back.
I leave one poem in my blog.present to you.when i whisper for my self I cry alot.
" Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know you go on

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And youre here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till were gone

Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life well always go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And youre here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Youre here, theres nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
Well stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on"

Daisy, Daisy, Salam, Salam:

Thanks so much for coming my friend! Never mind the poem! I love anything you ever write for me my friend!

I understand your feeling about Iran. Whether we have left something or someone in Iran, or whether we have nothing left in Iran, Iran will forever live in our hearts and we will become homesick for it. That picture tugged at my heart, too.

Be good azizam and come back again soon.

What a great poem! I love it. Thank you and please come back again.

P.S. A part of me lives in Ann Arbor for I have four loved ones there. What a special gift to know that you live so close to them all.
