Boy Meets Girl (II)

My sister's Narges (narcissi) bouquet, March 1, 2008, Sacramento.
In his school, Mehrdad had many boy and girl classmates, and he told me about them all the time. His best friend at school was Vahid, whom he really adored. He was forever telling me stories about the games he and Vahid played and how much fun they had. One winter, for several weeks Mehrdad was telling me how Vahid had fallen in love with a girl. Though they had many girl classmates at school, Vahid had fallen in love with a beautiful tall girl from another all-girls school nearby, who would walk to the bus station just outside their school everyday to get on the bus home. Vahid had noticed this girl and was desperate to somehow start talking with her, but could never find the opportunity. The girl would hardly ever look at her surroundings, would walk alone and fast to the bus station and disppear everyday. Mehrdad told me about Vahid's waiting by his school everyday to watch the girl come and go without a word. He told me Vahid had become quiet and very sad with the love of this mysterious girl who wouldn't even look at him, let alone talk to him. Mehrdad thought Vahid was seriously obsessed with the idea of finding a way to talk to this girl and winning her heart. He was sad for his friend, but didn't know what to do. I was no help, either, of course! I wouldn't know how to begin giving boys older than myself advice about winning a girl's heart.
To Be continued.... (Sorry, I'm exhausted and will need to come finish this story some other time, and answer your wonderful comments then, too.)

I am guessing something. Can I tell? Can I tell? I don't want to ruin your story though. But it could be wrong. I wanna know the rest.Haha If my guess is right I had almost the same experience. I will tell you after the story is finished.

Hi Nazy Joon,
You got me involved as well. I have a guess, I think the same as Roya. Is it going to be finished tomorrow?

It'd be more surprising that out of the 4 people in the story, two of them are the same person; (obviously) the two girls! This is what could happen in a movie; let's see what the reality is! Take care and have a good rest Nazy-jan.

I'm patiently awaiting part three... :)

Salam Nazy jon,

For the first time since I've become your regular reader, I missed this Friday post. I've been so busy this past weekend, of course in a good way. My sister got married last weekend. So you can guess this past few weeks the only discussion I had with my family was about wedding planning. Too bad I couldn't contribute as much as wanted to because the wedding was in Montreal. I only showed up for the wedding. It was nice ceremony and I'm sure one of the most memorable days for everyone.

As for my previous comment, I was making a joke. I've never encouraged early marriage.

I've tried catching up and read all the post I've missed. I can't wait to read the rest of the story.

Banoo Neda Jan:

You are so kind to me, but I couldn't do anything for the guys in this story, as they were beyond help!

My young friend, Mohammad, instant messaged me on Yahoo not too long ago, telling me that there is a new employee, a really really cute girl sitting across from where he is sitting at his desk at work, and he desparately wants to go talk to her, but doesn't know what to say! He was asking me what to tell her!

I said Mohammad Jan, just have a simple, friendly, conversation and work on building a relationship. He said he can't wait to "build a relationship," because the girl is really cute and all the other guys in the office are clamouring to talk to her and take her out, and if he waits too long he would lose the chance! Ha Ha!

I said well, why don't you give her a music CD? Tell her this is your favorite music and later use it as an excuse to chat her up? Or give her a book and talk about it later? I told him that leaving a piece of "cultural gift" in a woman's possession usually fills her imagination with the guy who gave her the present (if she doesn't already love and think about someone else!), so whenever she listens to that music, for example, she remembers you, and this will give you an advantage over your co-workers.

So he im'ed back and says: "So, what music should I give her?" I said it has to be a music or a book that you already know very intimately, so that you can have a conversation about it. What do you like? He said: "6 o 8." I said you can't have a conversation about 6 o 8! Typing like crazy, I asked him if he knew Andrea Bocelli, and he said "no." I asked if he knew "Sarah Brightman," and he said "no." I said o.k. forget about music. Let's move to a book. What books have you read recently? He said "none." I said, O.K. What books did you read a long time ago? Alchemist (Kimiagar)? "No." Did you read The Prophet (peyambar by Gibran Khalil Gibran)? He said "No." I thought, O.K. how about Sohrab Sepehri's 8 Ketab? "No," he said! I finally said: How about Divan-e-Hafez?!! Can you read any of the poems inside it without a mistake? You can give her a Hafez and mark that page and later read it to her, maybe! He said "I don't want to make a fool of myself!"

So, I told him to go read Alchemist instead of taking the girl out, because he really needed that more than a date!!

Hee Hee, He wrote back next week, saying simply "I took her out. She was no good."

Go figure, Neda Jan! What do I know?! Nothing! I am amazed people still ask me for my advice!

Have a good day!

Halat Jan:

I'm so glad you're back! Sorry I didn't deliver on your prediction about the story! Thanks so much for coming and for sending me all those cool emails. You are really wonderful. Have a good day azizam.

Nimeh Shab Jan:

How wonderful to hear from you after a long time!

I told my boys when they were very young that they should be looking for "girl friends" and not "girlfriends" if they want to be successful with women in the future! When we have friends from the opposite sex without inhibitions and attractions, we get to learn so much about their thinking and their feeling mechanisms, information that is useful through and through!

I continue to have really good male friends, with whom I can chat and compare notes. Some of the best lessons I learned in my life (without tears and pain!) came from my male friends.

I miss you Nimeh Shab Jan. I want to see your face. Be good azizam.

Tameshk, Tameshk, Tameshk!

Is it true? Are you coming my way? I miss you so very much girl. Can't wait to see you. Come on, get with it, and get on that plane with Hossein and come! Kisses your way, sweet, sweet Tameshk.

I owe you two phone calls! I will call you today. Please forgive me, for I've been going crazy with work and commitments of late.

I'm glad you enjoy the stories. They seem to be the only decent thing I can do these days. Be good azizam.

Roya Jan:

So, now you have my story. I'm sorry if it didn't turn out as you expected! I'd love to have your story, though! Tell it and I will write it if you like.

Have a brilliant day sweet Roya.

You humble and embarrass me, you fantastic writer! Hee Hee, my stories are child's play (and this one was about child's play, too!), as compared to yours.

I hope the conclusion hasn't been too disappointing! Take care my sweet friend.

Salam Ahmad Jan:

Na baba! There were a lot of people in the story (don't forget the ones on the sidewalk and the ones watching me have tea with the guy with a black eye in Baghcheh Evin!). In fact I wasn't really in the story, was I? Mehrdad was front and center if you ask me!

Be good kind Ahmad.

Sweet Assal:

So, what do you think now? Hee Hee!

Say, your Dad told me a very funny story, too, one time! It's a little bi-tarbiati, so I don't know if I will ever write it, but I will tell it to you sometime! I doubt he would ever tell you that story himself! Hee Hee. Makes me laugh thinking about it!

Have a good Wednesday azizam.
