خیام اگر ز باده مستی خوش باش
با ماهرخی اگر نشستی خوش باش
چون عاقبت کار جهان نیستی است
انگار که نیستی چو هستی خوش باش
The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, translated by Shahriar Shahriari.
I am a citizen of this planet, who believes there is a purpose and mission to our existence. I pursue that mission and try to enjoy every lesson, every day, and every last drop of the pain and joy we drink when we live. I live a mostly regret-free life, with each failure quickly becoming a valuable experience and something to laugh about, and every success something about which to be thankful and celebrative. I do all of this in and around my beloved Berkeley, California.

چون عاقبت کار جهان نیستی است
انگار که نیستی چو هستی خوش باش

Salam Nazy jon,
Such an inspiring poem and such a beautiful picture; this is the way to start a day. As I was drinking my coffee and reading this post, I thought life can be beautiful. Have a beautiful Friday.
P.S. I'm going to see the movie Persepolis for the second time with some non-Iranian friends. I'm very excited.
Have a great weekend and....Khosh Bash...

A poet once said, "The whole universe is in a glass of wine."
Well actually it is!
From a physicist point of view, as Feynman had described, nearly everything in physical science can be seen in a glass of wine.
I guess the whole message of the universe is connotated in a glass of wine!
I always hear it telling us:
Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy...

Salam Niloofar Jan:
That was hilarious! Hee Hee! A great little story, around which I could write something someday! Thanks for sharing it!
I come by to visit you, but you won't let us leave you a comment anymore, so I can't leave a sign of my visit! I hope you are well and happy and that the new year brings you loads of joy, beyond your wildest imagination! That's what I hope for you, Niloofar Jan.
Salam Daisy Jan:
I can't get over having "met" your picture! Heeh, you have a face in my mind now, and a beautiful face at that!
I'm glad you liked this post! What was your American friends' reaction to Perspolis? I might go to see it for the second time this next week, also, as one of my friends who hasn't seen it says she wants to see it with me.
Have a glorious Sunday afternoon.
Salam Farideh Jan:
Thank you! Though it didn't quite go as planned, it has been a very good weekend for me. I hope you are having a peaceful day in Tehran today.
Salam Masoud Jan:
Thanks so much for that "personalization" of the poem for me! Hee Hee, you were right! I didn't know what would happen the next day! Thank you for your good wishes and for your as usually witty contribution my friend!
Love you, Marzieh! Are you enjoying your Sunday?
Salam Shobeir Jan:
What an interesting scientific discovery for me! Heeh! Really? Everything in a glass of wine, that sounds absolutely fabulous!
Thanks for coming and thanks for sharing sweet Shobeir! It is always a good day when you come. Be good doostam.
Salam Nazi,
Thanks for the visits, I like your place/blog more! :)
It covers so many things, and some how I surprisingly find those things that I really wanted to read :) about small n simple things in life, about love!
kheili mamnoon'am!
Salam Esfand Jan:
Heeh! Thanks for coming to visit again! You are very kind to me. Yes, I am crazy that way--life's simplest things make me happy and I can't wait to talk about them! Do come back and visit with us again soon. We always have room for super intelligent young Iranians in our circle of friends.
