Getting Ready For Love

Preparing for Nowrooz in Tehran flower market, photo by Marzieh Moussavi, IRNA, March 10, 2008.
I worked like a madwoman today, trying to catch up with my outstanding commitments, paperwork, and such. My progress has been somewhat impressive, I'm glad to report! All through the day, though, as I was trying to escape the thoughts of some evil behavior I have been witnessing of late, I was thinking about how I need to do a spring cleaning of my heart, too, a real internal khooneh takooni!
I am expecting dear guests in my home soon, and I have to prepare for their arrival. As I add even more things to my to-do-list for Nowrooz, I am filled with joy and excitement. I am reminded yet again, that the most valuable things in life aren't material at all. They are of a texture and substance that cannot be traded, bought, or sold. Their true embodiment and emergence can only happen in a good, open, and generous heart. I must open my heart to be able to have those valuable things. I am getting ready to throw away some ill feelings and broken pieces in my heart and soul, forgetting fleeting betrayals and human shortcomings, making room in the brightest, most loving spot of it to receive something fabulous, priceless, and uncomparable to anything else. I am getting ready for Nowrooz. I am getting ready for love.

This was the cutest title ever. I loved it. Getting ready for love and I hope all the love in the world comes to you very soon- anything that you wish for.

I'm getting for an interview today and I'm very nerves but I couldn't resist not leaving you a comment. Have a fabulous day my friend.

Salam Farideh Jan:

Thank you so much my friend! Believe it or not, I can feel that love and I can assure you that it is reciprocal. Cyberspace is a strange phenomenon, especially for people like us who have had many real life experiences of friendship and relationships. Not seeing someone or being in physical contact with him/her doesn't normally lend itself to real friendships, the way we have experienced. But it is also very liberating in that people are not very inhibited when they talk to a stranger 6,000 miles away, helping some genuine friendships to flourish. I do love my cyberspace friends and value their friendship endlessly.

Take care azizam.

Salam Daisy Jan:

How did the interview go? Was it for a job? How exciting! I'm so glad you came and said something before you went.

You know, I am online most of the time, and I can see the comments as they come through, I just can't reply right away because I'm either at work or otherwise engaged. When I read your comment yesterday, I sent a prayer and some good vibes your way. Did you feel them?

Come back again soon sweet Daisy.

Salam Neda Jan:

What a sweet comment! How are you Banoo Jan? Are you all ready for Nowrooz? Can you send me some photographs of Tehran as it prepares for Nowrooz? Pictures of anything and everything--families carrying their shopping home, goldfish, sabzeh, flowers, blossoms, anything. I am putting a collection of photographs together for Iranians outside Iran who are homesick this time of the year. If you can help I would be grateful.

Take care azizam and enjoy your day in my gorgeous Tehran.

Halat-e Azizam. Thank you so much for your good wishes. I'm glad you found a chance to come visit me again. Thank you also for your thoughtful emails. Please know that I see them and I am grateful for them. I came and read your blogs today, too. I'll come back again to leave a sign of myself.

Take care aziz-e-delam. Also, if you have any recent pictures of Tehran or can send me a 2 minute videoclip of Nowrooz preparations around the city, I will share them with my audience like we did the last time. Thanks a million.

Thank you. Don't think for a minute that I don't know about the pains of love! The pain could be sweet, but it could also be very bitter. I know it all too well, and if ever I'm given a choice, I will keep on walking, not choosing to get engaged in that bitter-sweet pain. The problem with love is that it is mostly not elective! It sweeps you and takes you away, sometimes delivering you to a safe place some distance away, and sometimes throwing you down from a horrible height! You never know whether you will survive it in one piece this time. که عشق آسان نمود اول ولی افتاده مشکل ها
