Snow in Tehran

I should have gone to bed a long time ago, but Halat also sent me this video clip which she took of snow on Tehran's Mirdamad Boulevard, as she and her father were driving to work this morning. I thought I would share it with you. It was fun to see my beautiful Tehran again. Well, it's beautiful to me. Thank you Halat Jan. Goodnight.

Thanks nazy joon. I will watch the video later, but enjoyed seeing the photo of the snow in Tehran. I missed it so much. During my master, not many years ago, I was passing this street every day....Now it seems like ages....Thanks for sharing my freind.

Thanks to you and Halat; I've missed Tehran in a snowy day, since these years my visits to Tehran are limited only to summer time.

Last night, I called my Uncle who recently moved back to Tehran with his American wife. My phone call was too early and it woke them up and I was talking to him, telling him how much I missed him. He was telling me how it wasn't as great as they'd hoped it would be. We were waiting for the next thing to say, both of us.

And, as he looked out the window, he suddenly said, "Assali, it's snowing outside..I haven't seen it snow in my country since I left it.."

In that moment, even though I don't particularly like the snow, I wished I was there in with them, drinking my tea and having noon shirmal for breakfast...watching the snow fall outside and make everything fresh!

Salam Chakameh Jan:

I hope you have had a good start to the new year. Mirdamad Boulevard is now almost central to whatever one wants to do in Tehran. There is a Shahr-e-Ketab there which my kids and I used to frequent. There is also a shopping center there, Arian, where we would go to have coffee and ice cream upstairs. In recent years the music shop, Beethoven moved there as well, and added to reasons why I would head there. It made me full of memories, too. Come back again soon my friend.

Assal Jan:

I so wished I still lived in Tehran and could look after your uncle and his family. The first few months after any kind of move are the hardest, while important adjustments have to be made. Please tell him to hang in there and to be patient. Perhaps I could ask some friends of mine to check up on them. They have attempted a big feat. They could use all the support they can get. Be happy sweet Assal.
