Seminar Update-Last

O.K. This is the last set of pictures (I'm exhausted!). From the top: Leva of Baloot; Teleconferencing with Sanam Dowlatshahi of Khorshid Khanoom, talking about internet and bloggers; Jahanshah Javid accepts Certificate of Honor from City of San Francisco's Board of Supervisors for his service to Iranian community in diaspora; Ross Mirkarimi, City of San Francisco Supervisor awards Jahanshah Javid the City's Award; Arie (Arastoo) Siletz, an Iranian.com writer and an author.

Wow, I wish I could have been there. It must have been exciting to meet all those people face to face and be able to talk to them.
I am thinking of organizing the same gathering here. The problem is I don't know enough Iranian here yet. So I might postpone it for a while and do more networking to get to know people. Also I should do more serious blogging and write more frequently.
Thank you for all the pictures. I hope you write us a small report about the presentations and what happened there as well.
have a nice weekend

I am glad I made it there and I loved your reading of your son first date story. It not only was really well written but you did an excellent job reading it.

I am also including some photos from the event: http://www.pbase.com/salim/iranians_on_internet

All the best,

Salim

Thanks Nazy jan for putting this pictures. Now at least I can see how the screen looked, and I looked like "jenne boo daade"! what about your own picture by the way?

Thank you for posting these, I enjoyed them a lot and felt I was actually there with you all. I'm happy it was successful, your guys' pictures are all over internet now :)

Daisy Jan. Thank you for coming. I so wished you were there, too! It was really a good event, with marvelous people and excellent contributions.

What a good idea to try and organize a similar event in your area. We couldn't have done ours had it not been for San Francisco State University's Iranian Cultural Club and their dedicated volunteers. Headed by Ala Hazrat Haji Agha, they made it happen.

I will surely write about it as soon as I get a minute. I certainly hope that when we organize our second gathering next year, you will be here, too. Take care my friend and keep writing.

Dear Salim:

Thank you for taking the time to attend the event and for being such an engaged audience. Thank you for the compliment, too. I write from my heart and it is always sweet to see my words make it to my audience's hearts.

Thank you for the photos, too. Very artsy! Be good Salim.

Salam Bar Khorshid Khanoom:

My dear, you didn't look like a "Jen" at all! You looked really nice and more importantly, what you had to say was so interesting! Thanks so much for accepting our invitation and for putting up with our unexpected technical difficulties and schedule changes. You are a good sport and you are a woman who has things to say. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I had tried very hard to stay away from pictures and cameras, but I think today's event was bigger than I could manage, and as Siah says, our pictures are now all over the internet! You can see some of them, which Salim took, here: http://www.pbase.com/salim/iranians_on_internet

Be good Khorshid Jan.

Siah Jan: Thank you for that kind comment. I was thinking of you as I put up the pictures. Next year you are either one of the "Bay Area Bloggers," or you will be our guest here, for sure! Be good Siah.

Banoo Neda, Salam. It doesn't matter how, when, and how often you come, everytime I hear from you I am happy. I don't know what to say about my comments section's behavior! You are not the only one, though, as Rahnavard, Ghalbe Khoshbakht, and Shobeir have also experienced the same problem. :(

Our gathering was a success and I missed every one of my readers and blogger friends there. I actually had several of my readers who had come to the gathering! It was so fun meeting them in person. They were so kind to me, I was speechless. I read one of my posts, too, which was weird a little!

Thank you Neda Jan for thinking about me. Be good azizam.

It was a big success Nazi jaan. I am so glad that I got to enjoy the fruits of the efforts made by so many people, including Mehran and yourself.
It is too bad you haven't posted any of your own pics.

wow Nazy joon, I am so sorry for myself since I was unable to come. My heart was with you and others all the time. I hope these kind of forums continue to exist, like once a year at lease to gather around and meet up. The pictures are really a nice review of who is who around there. khaste nabaashid! and thanks!

Ehsan Jan, you and others made the event the success it became. Ala Hazrat is the one we should all thank. Don't worry about my pictures; unfortunately, they are all over the place now. Yikes.

Nimeh Shab Jan. We really missed you there! I unerstand how complicated your life was on the day before your business trip, so no worries there; it's just that I know how much you would have enjoyed it and how much everyone would have loved to meet you! Yes, we will do it again next year and there will be more advanced notice, allowing all to plan a little better. Thank you for your warm comment my friend.

Nazy said...

Thank you Serendip Jan. Wished you were there with us! Thank you for the other sweet comment, too! I busted out laughing! Be good azizam.

Nazy said...

Shobeir Jan, thank you! Yes, it was exhausting, and right now I could use all the "ghovat" you could negotiate for me! I wished you were there. As I mentioned, one of the questions I was asked in Q/A was how come all these really bright individuals come to read me?! (I think they were jealous!), to which I said I don't know how I got so lucky! You know that they were talking about you guys, right? Be good azizam.

Nazy said...

Jeer Jan, Jat khali bood azizam! Yes, I think it was very successful thanks to the collective efforts of so many. Next year you must plan to be here for it. Be good janam.

Remember that post you wrote, imagining other bloggers? Be good Mana Jan! (and I am flipping out seeing you write in English to me! However way you write, it's perfect for me Mana Jan.)

Thank you so much for coming to our event and thank you for having taken the trouble to report on it. It's really sweet! I have sent the link to all involved to post on their blogs, and also to Iranian.com, and Amir of Bia2.com. I posted it, as well. Thanks again for all the hard work you and your friends did. Come back soon and be good.
