Table for 18
It’s Friday. Continuing with my friends and family’s utmost generosity and kindness to me, I attended yet another birthday party tonight, this time with my family. My sisters and their families and my kids took me out to dinner to celebrate. I ate too much, but laughed my head off when the not-so-svelte belly dancer decided to invite members of my family to the dance floor! It was a sight! The best part of the night was when I looked across the table at my 12 and 13 year old nephews who were watching the belly dancer with fascination! My niece also turned 14 this week. I asked her if her mother had objected to her wearing makeup tonight, and she said “yes.” I told her she was beautiful no matter what she did, but that she could ask me which way I prefer her beauty, with or without makeup. She said “Thank you Khaleh,” but didn’t want to ask me about my preference, so I kept quiet! Some days I think being the “favorite Khaleh” to my nieces and nephews means that I am the “witchy sister” to their mothers! Ha Ha, I don’t care! I know you have heard me say this many times before, but I say it again: the best things in life are free. Don’t look for them in shops, places, and things. Look for them across the table, out the window, through the telephone receiver, and down the road, free and simple and valuable, unattainable with money, visible and tangible only through your hearts. I wish you all a good weekend, full of love and laughter. Go out to dinner with your family and friends and celebrate no particular occasion, but your love and friendship. Kiss many times and hug until your arms hurt, and if you can, dance until you can’t move anymore and laugh until your ribs hurt! Celebrate yourselves. Be good y’all.

Happy Birthday again Dear Nazy, i'm glad that u had great birthday parties. i wish u always happy-time with all of the friends and with your family :)
مرسی مرسی مرسی از پاراگراف آخر و بازم تولدت مبارک
How can you be this much energic?
please share the secret with us!
Dear Nazi,
I used to write in my weblog years ago. In fact I stopped once I wasn't anonymous anymore!
Guess I was not brave enough to open up to the world, knowing that they know who is behind the lines!
Anyways, I stopped about 4-5 years ago and now I just enjoy reading however I still get tempted sometimes, deciding to start again & write anonymous but then I feel like I’m betraying my old blog! so i just forget about it again.
One thing before I forget, Thanks for your last paragraph. It is soooooooooooooooooo true and I suppose it’s so simple that we all get to forget it so easily.
Thank you so much for reminding us all.
And finally i have to admit that I envy you as this year I will have my birthday all alone thousands of miles away from my friends and family.
همیشه خوش باشی نازی جان ...
در مورد پاراگراف آخرت هم حرف زیاد است ولی در کل نظر جالبی است
باز هم تولدت مبارک خانم نازی !!!
Nazy joon, Tavallodetoon mobarak, :) I wish each individual day of this year to be full of love, happiness and health. I must be late, just found out through your blog. so sorry for that and I'm glad you had an eventful one! :) and I'm so with you on your last paragraph, so true!
Farnaz-e Azizam: Thank you my friend! How and where have you been? I come read you all the time doostam! Please let me know about your health and happiness FarNice Jan.
Merci Merci Merci to Mana for her encouraging comments! So, are you celebratig with Manoochehr Jan and Shaya Koochooloo?! Be good dooste man.
Hee Hee Hee! Neda Jan, I wasn't really doing anything to require energy! Just eating and talking and laughing! I spend most of energy at work these days wher I am busy every moment of the entire day. Social and family time is realy no hard work at all! Shad bash!
Salam MarYam Jan: Yes, I remember you and I had a similar exchange not too long ago when I was trying to come visit you, but couldn't! If you write, you betry nothing my friend! If you don't express yourself you have betrayed MarYam! I encourage you continue writing in whichever way makes you happy. You have so much to tell and so much experience in this.
When is your birthday? Let me celebrate with you! One thing you all have to remember is that though I don't know how old you guys are, I am willing to bet that you're all a lot younger than me, belonging to my children's generation as opposed to mine. When we first came to US to study, just like you, we had many many lonely years here, where a revolution and a war took place back home and we were so worried for our families. We had lonely birthdays and Nowroozes and we felt sad and bereft hearing about our deceased relatives in Iran, fearing for the ones alive. In time, we settled down and the family gathered here, especially after our parents passed away. Three decades into our initial arrival in the US, we have finally grown into a big family here. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is not the issue here, but that it is what it is, and we try to make the best of it. My children and most of my nieces and nephews were born in the US, changing the landscape of our family's "home" somewhat. I have written about this in April in my "Idenity" series.
Take care my friend, and please take me up on my birthday celebration offer! We could do it in cyber space, couldn't we?
Farshad Jan: Thank you. The "last paragraph" seems to have been a big hit!
Thanks for the pictures of Taleghan Farshad. I have every intention of using them soon. Is it the Villeg of "Kesh" or "Kash?" Thanks again.
Thanks Helaleh Jan. My birthday celebration goes on and on! I'm going out to dinner with Leva, her sister, and Roja tonight! I wrote you a short email Helaleh Jan. Please call me after you have read it. Thank you again.
Nazy jan
من خیلی خوشحالم که خوشت اومد
Nazy azizam
the correct form is Kash ...
Hi Dear Nazy Joon! ;) everything is ok here. the kitchen is fixed and it is a cold but calm and relaxing weekend.
i wrote s.th, but this damn blogrolling is walking( and jogging) on my nerve ;)so nobody reads it. but try to write more often :)
thank you for your kindness ,bussi :*
Thank you Anonymous Jan, or is it Farshad who forgot to leave his name?! Kash. Very good. I will need to have the correct English spelling for when I use the photos. Thank you again.
Wonderful FarNice: Of course I read you all the time. You know, even when Blogrolling works, I don't subscribe to it. I go and check each and every one of my friends the old-fashioned way, and that's how I come to read you. Don't lose heart. There are other people who are getting depressed about it and have stopped writing until the situation is resolved. I will add you to the list of my friends' blogs which I ping daily, hoping that it would work this time! I am glad you are well and good and that you fixed that sink all by yourself! Take care.
