Tea With An Artist

Last week I had tea with Hamed Nikpay, a brilliant young Iranian musician, who lives in Northern California. I would very much like to tell you about him, but I have to wait for a piece I wrote on him to be published first. Here's his website if you want to know more about him. He is brilliant, take my word for it!

Mehran Jan, Yes, he is a very talented young man. He sings Iranian fusion music, and plays many instruments. As in all young Iranians of his generation, he makes me proud. If I ever hear of his performances, I'll be sure to let you know. Zemnan kheili dar nevisandegi bala shodi ha! It was fun reading your last post Alahazrat Jan!

Tameshk Jan, The funny thing is that I don't use blogrolling, so I go check on my favorites the old fashion way, and that's how I checked up on you tonight! I do think about you and wish you happiness and peace. Has your break started? Enjoy your time and write more, as it is always a pleasure coming to visit you my friend.

Rahnavard Jan! Thanks for coming. I should remember to ask you whether I can call you by your first name here, as Rahnavard sounds so serious! Please keep on writing azizam. You write very well, and there is so much you can see and tell the world. I am truly delighted to have found such wonderful young friends, such as yourself, through this blogging business. I am particularly touched to know that so many young, educated Iranian women are active in this fascinating endeavor, expressing themselves and adding a whole new dimension to the dialogue which was somehow incomplete before. Be good Rahnavard Jan.

Hi,
You don't know me and I don't know you either. I'm from New York. I've explined how I came upon your blog by accident when searching for something!
I've posed a question which you may want to address.
Since I am not a blogger I simply don't know if you check your older posts or you are made aware of questions posted there.
I posed a question in your post entry of Fri April 27, 2007
--Daydreaming
You may want to check it out.
Ciao!

Salam Serendip! You have been busy! I come by and visit and leave sometimes without comments. I am writing something about the story you covered today. It is a shame that our women are being treated as they are in Tehran.

Yes, Hamed is really a talented artist. I will be sure to pass along your good wishes for him when I talk to him. Artists who also have good personalities are a rare find, don't you think?! He will go far, I believe.

Mitra Jan: Thank you for coming to visit and for leaving a comment. I have now seen your comment on my April post, and I have left you a reply there. Actually, I rather like it if people go back and leave comments on my older posts! And yes, I do get notified of any comments anywhere in this blog.

I am so glad you found me and that even in a few sentences, I may have had something to say to you! Pirashki Khosravi seems a perfectly appropriate subject around which to meet new friends, if you ask me! Come back and visit again. Ciao Bella!
