Progress Report

I am preparing for a dinner at my house tonight. My good friend, Mersedeh, is here from Southern California this weekend. Poor baby, she has been chopping and mincing and cutting things for me all evening! She is working on the pomegranates now, as this is a very popular dessert item. I thought this picture would make for a good progress report. Well, to be fair, it is "Mersedeh's Progress Report!" Of course, someone has to take pictures and write blog entries, so I take that part on! I just love the excitement of a house waiting for dear guests. Life is good.

Salam Bar Halat-e-Aziz:

Thank you for coming. The pomegranates were the most popular desert. Hopefully I will post pictures of the rest soon, when I receive them from my friends. Jaye shoma khali bood.

Thank you for coming and for your kind comment. I believe the host has an easier job to do. It is the guest who does the harder job, because he or she could go anywhere, but he chooses to go to the host's house instead. A house with guests in it is a blessed home.

Salam Farshad Jan:

Thank you for your thoughtful and insightful comment. It was interesting to read about your memories regarding anar! You know and remember those family traditions, so they are not lost. You can teach them to your children when they are born and they are old enough to learn. That's how traditions continue to live. Be good my friend.

Salam Jeerjeerak Jan:

I agree with you totally! Iranians have pomegranate trees in their backyards to bring them prosperity, calling it one of the heavenly fruits. Jahanshah proposes to eat pomegranates with plain yogurt (instead of salt and golpar). We obliged, and the results were "interesting." Let me know what you think if you get a chance to try it. Be happy azizam.

Salam Bar Marzieh-ye Azizam:

Hee hee, jaye shoma kheili khali bood! We had a fabulous time. Nothing compares to preparing for the arrival of loved friends! Come visit me whenever you can. I might have you clean the pomegranates like I did to poor Mersedeh, but I promise I'll do my part, too! Be happy.

Salam Assal Jan:

I'm glad to see you around here again. You are a breath of fresh air my friend. I'm sorry you couldn't make it to my house. I did think about you and how much you and Parham would have enjoyed yourselves. I was so busy, I didn't have time to take pictures, and my friends have been slow in sending me theirs. As soon as I have more, I will post them. Be good azizam and come back soon.

Salam Shin Jan:

It's a pleasure having you visit me again. I know about your family's illness, and I wish you a speedy recovery. Thank God for your mother's attention to you and Sina during your illness. If I were nearby, I would give Sina ANYTHING he likes to eat! (Yes, you are lucky I don't live nearby, or I would spoil that child rotten!). Be good azizam and my best to Mr. Alef and beautiful Sina.
