Hee, Salam Jeer Jan! You are so funny!

Na baba. I was just "jav-gir," so I thought I'd try it! I love writing in English. I'm writing the Mofid piece in Farsi, so I thought I'd show off a bit!

I hope you are having a brilliant day!

It is a little bit confusing for me since I use the blogs' language to leave comments. Now, I don't know I have to leave comment in Persian or in English!
I don't know whether I like your "English" posts because I am accustomed to them (habit) or because I like your writings in English or may be both!
Anyway, it was exciting reading your blog in Persian. What if you continue writing in two blogs, Persian and English?

Nazy said...

Salam Farsad Jan:

Thanks so much for coming to visit! I don't think I will change the language to Farsi, though this one post was fun to write if for nothing else, for the surprise element for my readers! You are right. I do have readers who can't read Farsi, and I have been very clear about why I write in English, anyway. I write in English to share the experiences of ordinary Iranians (myself) and extraordinary Iranians (Iranian artists, scientists, and writers) with others who know less about these subjects.

There are many wonderful Farsi blogs, some of whom belong to my dear readers. Everyone can go and read them and enjoy and learn something. I think there are fewer English blogs where Iranians write in a language that can be shared with the rest of the world. That has always been my mission and I don't want to change it now.

It was fun trying it, though! It was also nice chatting with you today. Be good and take care Uni-Far Jan.

Salam Khanoomi Jan:

Hee Hee, I just love the reaction! Yes, this was a sheitoon thing to do for me. I'll go back to English next post.

Yes, the flowers are real. This photo was taken on New Year's Eve, so it's not new. Things look exactly the same way today, though! This is what I call "my corner" of the house, where I do my work and keep watch over the happenings around the house.

You probably know that I live with my two sons and now their friend, Iden, who is staying with us this semester. These guys have 10 other friends, exactly the same age, and all looking the same! They come and go as they please, feeling comfortable in my house, I suppose. I swear there have been times when my sons were nowhere in sight and their friends were sitting on the couch, watching TV!

They all know that they can go help themselves to anything in the refrigerator and around the kitchen (if they can find something, because if I don't have time to do the regular shopping, food becomes scarce in my house quickly)!

So I sit here, and chat with those guys about all kinds of things. Today I showed Iden and Ardavan a videoclip of a Hichkas song. Do you know who he is? He is an Iranian underground rapper, with some very haunting music.

Anyhow, it was a fun try, but I'll go back to English next post. Thanks for coming to visit Saeedeh Jan.

Salam Leila Jan:

As I said, it was just a naughty thing to do to see how everyone reacted?!

I think I will stick to English and my occasional Farsi poems! Hope you are having a brilliant day my friend!

Nazy said...

Salam Babak Jan:

I'm glad I surprised you! Keeping two blogs is a very hard thing to do, especially as I like to write daily. I think I will stick to English for now. It is fun to be able to write Farsi after a long time and I couldn't contain my joy, hence today's silly post!

Be good and happy and don't forget you promised to come and visit soon.

Kama Koo? Where are ALL the letters?
I wanted to help a friend and asked around and learned how to set it up in Windows. I waited till the Persian KB overlay letters arrived (purcahsed on ebay) and stuck them to each key, I started with "B"... "I"... "J", "A" ... (in Farsi fonts) and gave up. I'm so slow that it's not worth my time (an I realized how bad and embarrasing it is...)
I told my friend here is how you do it and you're on your own.

I even suggested he should perhaps look into purchasing a English to Persian translation software. That would be easier:)

Salam Bijan Jan:

Hee Hee, giving up did occur to me more than once! Too bad I couldn't this time, as I am translating my dancer piece and I had a publishing deadline to meet!

I am a fast typist both in Farsi and in English. The problem is that some keys have been moved around and I can't find them anymore! The other problem is in the formatting. For example, if I went to add an English word to my Farsi text, or if I tried to hyperlink a word in my document, all the formatting would shift and ruin my document!

Alas, I have managed to finish the piece, I think. It needs to be edited by somebody who knows the software and the keyboard a lot better than me. I am keeping my fingers crossed that before it is published, it will be visited by such an editor, or I'll be very sad.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I will let you guys know when the piece is published. Take care and come back again soon.

I have missed you so much my friend. My life has been so chaotic recently. I will come to visit you first chance I get. Kisses to you and Shaya and regards to Manoochehr Khan.

Salam Bar Noonoosh!

Greetings and welcome to my blogs! A new reader/commenter is always welcome and well-received in my home. Thank you for taking the trouble to write a note for me. I came to visit your blogs for a short period of time. It looks interesting and I'm sure as soon as I have a bit of time, I will spend more time getting to know you there. In the meantime, if you come back and feel comfortable, share something about yourself with my other readers so that we can all get to know you better.

Have a fabulous day Noonoosh Jan and thanks again for coming by.

Salam Niloofar Jan:

That was really funny! You are not "kheng," my friend! This just means that when my heart writes and your heart reads, language becomes moot and meaningless, just a vehicle of the heart!

Thanks for the tip, too. You're the best!

Nazy said...

Fari, Fari, where have you been? Salam! I missed you my friend. Thank you so much for coming to visit. I will try to write in Farsi sometimes, now, though I keep my blogs in English for specific reasons.

Please come back again soon and my best to your family, my sensitive wonderful young friend.

OH MY GOD, SHAHED!

I cannot believe you came to visit me! Did Q set you up to come and surprise me, that devil?!

I cannot tell you how happy I am to see you here! Of course I know which Shahed you are, the genius engineer with an answer to all my questions! I miss you so very much my friend. We had the best of times working together, and my heart is full of the beautiful memories we all made together.

Are you good? Are you happy? Did you get married? Details, details, please! I am in touch with several of our old colleagues and some of them chat with me on yahoo whenever the opportunity arises. Q tells me that Alireza comes to read me, too, though if he does, he never makes a peep! I miss you all so much and can't wait for a chance to come to Tehran and come and visit you all, sitting around doing nothing but telling jokes and shooting the breeze.

Salam-e mano be hameh beresoon va az khodet movazebat kon. You are very very dear to me my gifted and kind friend.

If only you knew what fun times await you and Bardia together in the years to come, you would want to fast-forward life to get to the good parts! When our children grow into adults, they become our friends, and talking with them becomes a truly pleasurable pastime. Having said that, I know you enjoy your sweet new days with your newborn baby. These times are also very special when both of you adjust to a world which would have the other in the center of its universe for several years to come. Your home is blessed these days. Enjoy!

Hee Hee, I have had to endure my son's teen-age years to get to this point, and so I enjoy these days as much as I can! Though truth be told, when the side of him that wasn't controlled by hormones talked to me, even during his teen-age years he was a sweet companion, full of his own brand of wisdome and awe.

Yes, life is perfect when all that we need is within our reach. Thank you for your kind observation. I am sorry it has taken me several days to reply to comments. I'll try and stay on top of it now. Be good and my best to Shawhin. Please come have lunch with me soon.
