Opening My Presents

Christmas in Tehran, BBC Persian, December 24, 2007
Just as I open my Christmas presents, I am opening another present, one which I have had for several months now. On my birthday in October, my blogger friends Leva, Mehran, and Bayramali gave me a very special present. It was my very own weblog, with a dot com address! As you can see, though I was and continue to be deeply touched with their generosity and thoughtfulness, I am still trying to figure out how to use this new software, which is a lot more challenging than blogspot for me. My wonderful friends had their super-smart friend, Hamid Reza in Tehran, design the website for me. It is beautiful, though not completely finished yet. It will have music capabilities by the time it is ready, blogrolling to manage my growing circle of blogger friends, and will enable me to post interesting links. Leva, Mehran, and Hamid Reza will be teaching me how to use my weblog this coming weekend (good luck to them!), so that I'm able to switch sometime in January. I would like to invite you to go take a look and tell me what you think. Please don't change my address on your blogs and bookmarks yet. I will let you know when I'm ready to switch. Here's the address: http://nazykaviani.com/ . Will you come back and tell me what you think? Thanks a million.

WOOOW! So nice and delightful!...:))
MOBARAAK BASHEEE...
everything's so gorgeous, I love the color, baby blue...
I think it will seem prettier if some mild colors (like lemon) be added in the background.
but its your home and for sure we will adore it with your own interested style sweet Nazy...

but I couldn't see your picture...:(

I hope this new home full of happiness and pleasure with
joyful events every day...
hopefully
Booos

Nazy joon. I had seen your .com before, but felt like you dodn't wanna talk about it, and didn't mention it sooner. My comment would be 1) I love the blue mosaic pattern on the right side of the page. It is very happy and pretty. 2) I had hard time reading the posts on the blue background. Plus the color is not that energetic as you seem to be. :-)

Thank you Niloofar Jan. Hee Hee, I left that picture at the other site for a few hours to surprise those who came! Indeed, if our hearts have met, so might have our faces. Be happy azizam.

Salam Masoud Jan:

Thnk you for that compliment. Since the website was a surprise gift from my friends, Leva and Hamidreza did all the design, based on Leva's recommendation that "it should look Iranian!" So, I'm glad they have been successful in conveying that. No, I don't need presents, thank you. I have more than enough in the care and attention of you and my other readers. Just receiving your comments is present enough!

Salam Halat Jan:

Thank you for taking the time to visit the other site. You didn't miss much! I will discuss the color scheme with Leva and Hamidreza and see what can be done about it. Thank you again for your good wishes my friend.

Mon Monsieur Bayram:

Thank you! I'm glad you liked that silly photo. It is a pleasure meeting you, too, my friend!

Salam Chakameh Jan:

I am actually surprised at how long I was able to keep that secret myself! Hee Hee!

Thank you for your kind words. The background color on the left seems to be a point of agreement for all. I tried to get one Berkeley photo and a Tehran photo into those tiles, but Hamidreza said the size would be too small and it won't do anything for the look of the page (you see, he is an artist and has opinions about things like that!). I'll see what can be done about the background color. Thank you my friend.

Thank you Mr. Adam Brown of Germany. I will look at that site. I tried to see if you are a blogger, but all I could find was your profile and no blog name. If you are a blogger, do let me know your address, so that I can come and visit you. I really need to go on a diet! Thanks again.
